Woke up too late for breakfast at the hotel, so decided to have something to eat in town. Remembered seeing a Vodafone shop the previous evening so went there to get a sim for the ipad. Thirty Euro later I had a sim installed, valid for three months, loaded with 1GB of data, not bad.
It was now approaching 12:00 and we had to be out of the hotel by then, so we hurried back, packed, and was out of there just before 12:00. We hopped on to the Autostrada heading in the general direction of Bilbao, this without having breakfast, not even a cup of coffee. We soon turned off the highway to follow the coastal road. We stopped off for coffee and decided to buy a fresh baguette, ham and cheese and the supermarket for a picnic en route to our destination. Oh yes, the supermarket also had my all time favourite white beer, Hoegaarden, so few of those also somehow made it onto the shopping trolley.
We traveled along the coastal road, hoping to find a decent place to have breakfast which now turned into a rather late lunch. We stumbled upon a breathtaking spot, somewhere between Zumaia and Deba (Picture Deba – 1, 2 and 3). We continued on to Bilbao, checked into our hotel and decided to stay in and rest for the big day ahead. The big day of course was visiting the Guggenheim Museum.
