We have proved over the last two months that this was indeed possible but it was now time to spread our wings further inland. And although there are bus routes inland I suspect the schedules are such that you cannot do daytrips, and would have to overnight when venturing further afield. Thus, renting a car at this point, for a month, made perfect sense, i.e. two weeks in Séte and two in Marseille. Continue reading

Day 2 – Cadaques to San Sebastian

We had a pleasant breakfast after which we packed up and left Cadaques, ostensibly straight for San Sabastian, on the north coast of Spain, a long drive. But, at the last minute we decided to go north along the coast to El Port de la Selva. This is a decision I will never regret. The hotel manager where we stayed mentioned that it was sort of similar to Cadaques, but that was really an understatement. Day 1 – Barcelona to Cadaques

Had a very pleasant flight on air France. Air hosts and hostesses were very friendly, a refreshing change from some airlines who believe their personnel’s “stiff upper lip” attitude can be fobbed off as professionalism. Well done Air France.
