Rain was forecast for Friday and it was spot-on… we just can’t seem to shake the rain from our lives. For most of the day there was no break in the gently falling wetness so we stayed indoors, trying to get into a working rather than a relaxing mood. The clock ticked… ticked… ticked… oh so slowly… past midnight, it was Friday morning and we were still camped out in the departures hall at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.
